Accessibility and support

How this course is built

  • Pages are checked against WCAG 2.2 AA (W3C, 2023) and with the built-in accessibility checker.
  • Headings in order, descriptive link text, alt text on every image, and no meaning shown by colour alone.
  • All videos are chunked (about 6 minutes or less), captioned and transcribed, with audio-only versions.
  • Key documents are available as accessible Word and PDF.

Universal Design for Learning

Following the UDL guidelines (CAST, 2024), you get choice in engagement (pick your own focus technology), representation (text, video, audio) and action and expression (for example, P4 can be written or recorded).

Studying online and across time zones

  • Every live session has an async route.
  • Deadlines are in UK time with a converter link; tutorial slots run 07:30–21:00 UK, including a weekend slot.
  • Recordings are available within 24 hours.

Adjustments and support

If you have a disability, a long-term condition or a learning difference, contact the university's disability and inclusion support team to arrange reasonable adjustments. Library, study skills and IT support links will go here.

About this mock-up

This is a static HTML/CSS prototype. It uses semantic landmarks, a skip link and ARIA labels on icons. It is not a live Canvas course, and the logo is a generic placeholder.
